Hello book-nerds! Today we're talking about books that you should read while you're on college. And why, you ask?
Because there are books that when in your life at the right time can change everything.
Synopsis:
Cath is a Simon Snow fan.
Okay, the whole world is a Simon Snow
fan...
But for Cath, being a fan is her life—and
she’s really good at it. She and her twin sister, Wren, ensconced themselves in
the Simon Snow series when they were just kids; it’s what got them through
their mother leaving. Reading. Rereading. Hanging out in Simon Snow forums,
writing Simon Snow fan fiction, dressing up like the characters for every movie
premiere.
Cath’s sister has mostly grown away from
fandom, but Cath can’t let go. She doesn’t want to.
Now that they’re going to college, Wren
has told Cath she doesn’t want to be roommates. Cath is on her own, completely
outside of her comfort zone. She’s got a surly roommate with a charming,
always-around boyfriend, a fiction-writing professor who thinks fan fiction is
the end of the civilized world, a handsome classmate who only wants to talk
about words... And she can’t stop worrying about her dad, who’s loving and
fragile and has never really been alone.
For Cath, the question is: Can she do
this? Can she make it without Wren holding her hand? Is she ready to start
living her own life? Writing her own stories?
And does she even want to move on if it
means leaving Simon Snow behind?
I read this book back on my first year of college and I really connected with the characters because of it. If you're into cosy little romances, you'll definetly love this one!
In second place, is one book I met more recently, courtsy of Mad from Presa Nas Palavras.
Synopsis:
She's about to make a deal with the college bad boy...
Hannah
Wells has finally found someone who turns her on. But while she might be
confident in every other area of her life, she's carting around a full set of
baggage when it comes to sex and seduction. If she wants to get her crush's
attention, she'll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take
notice...even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cocky captain of the
hockey team in exchange for a pretend date.
...and it's going to be oh so good
All
Garrett Graham has ever wanted is to play professional hockey after graduation,
but his plummeting GPA is threatening everything he's worked so hard for. If
helping a sarcastic brunette make another guy jealous will help him secure his
position on the team, he's all for it. But when one unexpected kiss leads to
the wildest sex of both their lives, it doesn't take long for Garrett to
realize that pretend isn't going to cut it. Now he just has to convince Hannah
that the man she wants looks a lot like him.
It makes a difference, I think, to read this one in college, it makes you dream with what-ifs more if you weren't.
Ah Fangirl já está na minha lista aos anos, mas nunca cheguei a ler
